It starts with the cotton itself- we use long fiber cotton that holds up during the yarning and knitting process with minimal breakage.
The fleece is three end fleece- the fabric is knit with a loop, a face and a tie yarn. Most fleeces are two end, without the tie yarn, which reduces durability. The three end knitting process was nearly extinct when our partners brought the machine out of a dusty corner. Getting it up and running was a labor of love, but the unique toughness of this fabric is a direct result.

French terry fabrics are defined by a looped interior face.
This specific french terry was knit at a slower pace, so the loops are exactly uniform. Our head designer credits this “symphonic” organization of the loops for its unique durability and quality. The loops also provide a breathable texture ideal for midweight products.

We blended the highest quality Supima cotton fabric with modal fiber to make a luxurious, low maintenance fabric for our women’s midweight sweatshirt series.
Supima cotton is the American strain of Pima cotton. Pima cotton has long fibers and is very resilient. It takes dye well allowing for deep, saturated colorways. The smooth handfeel and silky finish come from modal fiber which comes from Beech trees.

Very heavyweight for a jersey, we picked this fabric for its versatility. It works really well for a heavyweight t-shirt or in our case a light, layerable sweatshirt. The 1% black poly gives the fabric subtle visual complexity and depth when it blends with the dyed cotton.
Fabric Content: 50% Polyester, 37% Cotton, 13% Rayon

Fleece fabrics are knit with multiple yarn feeds, while jerseys are knit with just one. Jerseys are typically used for lighter weight products.
This was our first blend fabric, and it’s about as heavy as jerseys get. We picked it for its proportions of cotton, poly and rayon. Cotton takes dye well (dark color), rayon takes it marginally well (light color) and poly doesn’t take it at all (white) which gives the heathered, textured look when they’re knit together. The super soft feel comes from the rayon- a material made of wood fiber.

This cotton waffle fabric is about as heavy-duty as they come. Most waffle fabrics are knitted in patterns with smaller grids. Those fabrics are woven on half-gauge machines, which are smaller and less powerful. Our waffle is knitted on a full-gauge machine which gives it its durability and large-square waffle pattern.
This fabric also takes color remarkably well because of the textured grid. During the dyeing process dye pools in the indents in the grid, giving a rich, multi-dimensional look to the finished product.

Ponte fabrics have the reputation of being stiff and suit-like. To combat that in our version, we finished this fabric with a nano-technology softener and used 54% Pro Modal. Modal fiber comes from beech trees and gives a soft, pliant feel to the fabric.
The Modal yarn also has high tensile strength which means it has enough strength to support the nylon and spandex in the blend, which are added for stretch and structure. The mix of all of these characteristics make this fabric ideally suited for a pant that’s made to flatter and hold you in, without restricting movement.

We spent 6 months developing our slub fabrics for him and her. “Slub” was originally considered a defect, caused by knotting in the yarn during the knitting process. Because it gives the fabrics a uniquely textured look and feel, “slub” fabrics are now manufactured especially for those knotted patterns.
Slubs tend to be flimsy and transparent, so we developed ours to be substantial- 6.6 oz/ sq. yard for him and 6.1 oz. sq. yard for her. The weight makes both fabrics ideal for our heavier Ts and polo because they hold drape and structure well.
