PP Non woven fabric manufacturer
What is the difference between spunbonded and needlepunched nonwoven geotextiles?
Needle punched nonwoven fabrics are made from blended webs of continuous or staple filaments that are passed through banks of multiple reciprocating barbed needles. The fabrics derive mechanical coherence from the entangling of fibres caused by the barbs on the reciprocating needles; these fabrics thus resemble wool felts. Spunbond fabrics are produced by depositing extruded, spun filaments onto a collecting belt in a uniform random manner followed by bonding the fibers. The fibers are separated during the web laying process by air jets or electrostatic charges. Bonding imparts strength and integrity to the web by applying heated rolls or hot needles to partially melt the polymer and fuse the fibers together.
What is the advantage to using a spunbond geotextile?
The main advantage offered by spunbonded nonwoven geotextiles is higher tensile strength per unit of mass (weight) when compared to a needlepunched nonwoven. However, you do sacrifice a little of the flow rate.
